Guest guest
Here I am again talking about eating in restaurants. :) It must sound like that's all I do is eat out, but when I do dine out, I usually take a gluten-free companion and we split an entrée. I think someone already did a post on this restaurant. They have locations in Palo Alto and now Santana Row. It's a hamburger place (although you can order turkey burgers, etc.) where you can choose what cheese, toppings, sauces, etc. you want on your hamburger. You can order a hamburger bowl or turkey bowl (without the bun). My turkey patty had melted swiss cheese, pickles, sautéed onions and mushrooms and bacon on top and it sat on top of lots of lettuce, tomato and dried cranberries. And if that wasn't enough, we split an order of sweet potato fries that were to die for (especially dipping them in horseradish mayo). All of this was gluten-free. The Counter has a list of gluten-free choices under Allergen Information at the bottom of the website. All I did was print the menu and highlight which cheeses, sauces, toppings etc. that were gluten-free. The manager did confirm they had a dedicated fryer for the regular french fries and sweet potato fries. The usual disclaimer. Eating out is risky. Ask any and all questions to eat safely.
