Guest guest
: All drinking water (even spring water) is becoming more and more impure. This is why people are turning to purified forms like distilled, or reverse osmosis. Distilled water is water collected by condensing the vapour from boiling water. It can also be had from the ice or frost that condenses and freezes inside a freezer if you have one. Just collect it, melt it, filter it through a coffee filter and voila, distilled water. Russ Water! I am new to this so call me stupid but........I need someone to clarify a few things regarding water. Here in UK we usually drink tap water. This is (probably?) not advisable. Spring/mineral water is available in the shops but most cleanses say use 'purified spring water'. Is this usually done by manufacturer before selling to public or do you have to filter yourself as well? Also, what is distilled water/or how do you make it such? Recently did Stanley Burroughs Mastercleanse (using tap water) with v.good results. Haven't felt so good in years!! Would be grateful for any info. All water we drink is filtered this way, regardless if it is used for the clease or not. As to 'purified spring water', I'm not sure what they mean by that. You could always run your bottled spring water through another filtering system if you wanted to. Bob

Guest guest
Hi. I'd be interested in seeing more input on water. I have been using Brita for years, but have recently come under the impression that it is really not effective at getting contaminants out besides chlorine. I am considering getting a solid carbon block filter such as multi-pure. Does anyone have any input? Info on water: http://www.healthy.net/hwlibrarybooks/haas/water.htm http://www.hacres.com/html/water.html http://www.multipureco.com/ http://www.nsf.org/ > > We use a standard BRITA filtering system for our water. Ion Exchange Beads -eliminates 99% of Lead -reduces 92% of copper -softens water without adding salt Special Carbon -reduces 98% of chlorine; bad tastes and odors -reduces 94% of sediment When choosing a filtering system it may be beneficial to visit your local municipal office and ask to see a chemical analysis of your water. From the analysis, you could determine what type of filtering system you need. I think I will go that route here and first find out what is in the water. I know we have no fluorine, it was taken out last year. Bob
Guest guest
My opinion on shower filters are they are a must if you can not get full house filters. Ann

Pure distilled water basically has no taste, but is very refreshing to drink. Personally, for convenience sake, I buy reverse osmosis/UV treated water from the health food store (Culligan brand) using my own 5 gallon glass jugs (glass doesn't leach anything into the water). Guest guest
Hey, ! Yes, I was sure that I didn't have a clear picture of distilled water. It was from a plastic gallon jug. Therefore, I have never really had distilled water. Thanks for the clarification :-) Margarette
