Guest guest
I had that reaction to quinoa several times so gave it up. Terrible pains as it was getting out of my system too. Washing was not an option as twice it was from an instant quinoa breakfast packet (like instant oatmeal). I thought perhaps it had been contaminated but then it happened with another type of quinoa product. I've been too afraid to try it again for about a year.Maia “If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn’t sit for a month.” Teddy Roosevelt
Guest guest
Quinoa itself is naturally gluten free. But as with all other food products, if it is processed in a plant that also processes gluten containing products, there is a risk that the quinoa will be contaminated. An instant breakfast quinoa product seems like it would be more likely to be contaminated. Quinoa itself cooks in about 12 minutes, so you can forgo the prepackaged "instant" quinoa and still have a meal fairly quickly... The Alter Eco brand does not process quinoa with gluten containing products, so maybe give that a try? It's such a great source of protein... -----Original Message----- From: Maia Alpern <maiaalpern@...> Sent: Fri, Jul 24, 2009 11:13 am Subject: [ ] Re:quinoa question- high gross level I had that reaction to quinoa several times so gave it up.
