Did you wash it thoroughly, with about 3-4 changes of water before you cooked it? Apparently quinoa has a detergent-like substance on it that can cause diarrhea if ingested. It washes out pretty easily. I'm always extra careful with the washing and have never had this problem with the quinoa. - From: Melita <leftcoastmelita@ sbcglobal. net> Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2009 2:21:03 PMSubject: [ ] quinoa question- high gross level ok just warning you on this one.majorly grossHas anyone made quinoa, ate it, and then got the worst case of diarrhea on the planet?I can't believe that this is what is causing it....but I think it has to be.Maybe it was too much fiber for me. I am a vegetarian so I can't figure that one out.Basically this meal has ripped through me.Any suggestions?M
