Guest guest
Good idea. Be brave. I know how hard it is for folks with long hair to cut it, but you'll see once you do... even half of it... how much easier things will be. Have you ever cut a dread before? It looks kinda interesting. There will be a "core" in the center, kinda like the lead in a pencil, only gray/white. No matter how often you've washed your dreads, over time, teeny tiny particles of dust/lint/dandruff migrate toward the center and create this core. I was a little surprised when I cut 's dreads the first time and saw it. She'd had dreads for 4 years, none of them were thicker than a pinky finger, I'd never used wax on them, we washed her hair all the time, and they still had that "core." Other tho't... I had one friend that when she cut her long hair short, she braided one small section near the nape of her neck and did not cut it. When she is not at work, she lets that one braid hang down longer than the rest of her hair or wraps it 'round her ponytail band for a neat look. It's her little badge of rebellion. hugs, Marty From: "SB" <bahadreama@...>Reply- To: Subject: [ ] Re: ATTN: SuzanneDate: Tue, 26 Dec 2006 19:43:44 -0000 I will probably cut it. I asked Bernie if I needed to and she said it was entirely up to me. I think it will be much easier to take care of if I cut it -- otherwise I do quite a bit of bending to wash and dry it. I wore it up in a tam for my appointment last week and I could do that until my incision heals -- but I bet it would get itchy! ..
