Happy New

Year! We have some very exciting things happening at Triumph Dining for

2010. We have a brand new iPhone app out (more on this below). And,

we're in the process of completely redesigning the Essential Gluten-Free

Restaurant Guide (5th edition slated for publication in the spring). Look

out for periodic updates in your inbox. Meanwhile, enjoy 's killer

home recipe for Pumpkin Bread, gluten-free, of course!

Announcing Triumph's New iPhone App

We’re excited to announce that our brand new gluten free grocery guide

iPhone App is now available in Apple’s App Store.

To check it out, click on the link (it will open

up iTunes on your computer) or go to the iTunes store and search for

" Triumph Dining. "

This new App is the iPhone version of our popular gluten free grocery

guide. Like the print edition, it lists over 30,000 gluten free foods,

making it the largest gluten free product listing available anywhere.

And, for the iPhone version, we worked with one of the most talented

iPhone developers in the business. The result is a very fast, powerful

App that’s really easy to use. One of the coolest features that we

haven’t seen elsewhere is the search function – it actually updates your

search results real time, as you type each letter of your query, making

it easier to find what you’re looking for fast.

Go check it out on your

iTunes! (This link will open up your iTunes program and

take you to our app page.)

Gluten-free Pumpkin Bread Recipe

It took me

over two years to convert my husband’s family recipe for pumpkin bread to

be gluten-free. I tried several different flour blends and finally by

adding a little applesauce, the gluten-free version was at least as good

as the old gluten favorite. When a gluten-free food avoider we know asked

for the recipe (he thought it contained gluten), I knew my job was complete!

If you have your own gluten-free flour blend, feel free to use it in this

recipe. I’ve found two products that make this bread amazing. One of them

is Beth’s All Purpose Flour from Gluten Free Pantry. That flour blend is

widely available in health food stores, Whole Foods and some mainstream

grocery stores. The other flour, Jules Gluten Free, is less available but

sold online and in some stores. It is simply amazing flour that works

incredibly well in most any gluten recipe!...

Gluten-Free Pasta Recipes

These days there are so many gluten-free pastas on the

market that it’s not hard to find them – it’s just tough to choose

which one you like best. We like Andean Dream and Le Veneziane pastas

best but no matter what pasta you like, there are tons of great dishes to

use it in. There are entire cookbooks devoted to pasta recipes. Many of

the recipes don’t call for gluten ingredients except for the pasta, of

course.

If you don’t have a pasta cookbook handy, have no fear. We’ve found some

killer pasta recipes online from various blogs and recipe websites.

Win a Copy of Artisanal Gluten-Free Cooking

Artisanal Gluten-Free Cooking by Kelli and Bronski is

one of the most beautiful cookbooks I’ve seen in a while. Right off the

bat, as you start reading about how learned that there is an

emotional attachment to food that one might not realize before going

gluten-free, you will connect with his and Kelli’s journey. The sense of

loss when one faces such a major life change is something only those of

us who go through it can understand. When we have a phenomenal piece of

gluten-free pizza when dining out, others around us do not understand why

tears well up in our eyes...Continue Reading
