What a bummer that there are cross contamination issues!

If you have a Whole Foods near you, their gluten free pie crusts are absolutely amazing. My non-GF family actually prefers the GF crusts to non-GF crusts. They're soy free and nut free, but unfortunately not Dairy free. I think the reason they're so delicious is that they are made with real butter and you can tell. They're super flaky. I use them for quiche and I make a great apple pie with them. They come in packs of 2. I thaw them out and then plop one of the crusts on top in order to make an apple pie.

Best of all, the crust are made in a dedicated bakery.

My husband was reading the Mollie Stone's circular this week and excitedly told me that Mollie's had a Gluten Free/ Wheat Free frozen pie crust made by Upper Crust. I was skeptical, but happy to go check it out. I went to Mollie's today to check it out....and indeed, way too good to be true. Although the ingredients are gluten free, it clearly states on the package that the GF pie crust is made in their regular bakery ON THE SAME equipment they use to make their regular wheat pie crusts. What's the point?? Maybe they just don't get it...seems like a total waste of their efforts to me.

I totally agree on the Whole Foods pie shells. Delicious - better than

the wheat-based frozen version. It's all about the butter... ;-)
