I'm going to Monterey for a couple days. Other than PF Changs, is there a restaurant you can recommend?

I don’t visit too often but, my

husband and I went for a weekend about a month ago and had a fabulous time!

We stayed at Casa Munras which features

Esteban’s Restaurant which has had wonderful reviews. We did not have

dinner there although did also get accolades from some locals that like to eat

there…but we did have desserts and had the breakfast buffet on Sunday –

it was very good. (And the Spa was divine too!)

We did eat dinner at Casanova’s in Carmel. It is a very

romantic setting and the food is outstanding. They were very accommodating both

times that we have been there.

We have eaten at Tilley Gort’s in Carmel for breakfast. It

used to be good but this time was VERY disappointing. Boring breakfast!

Let us know what you find – we plan

to go in Dec.

Enjoy!

I dined at Estéban with family and friends when we were on vacation over the summer -- overall it was a good experience. They were very busy so a couple things got lost in the order (but we had ordered too much anyway). Many of the dishes are already gluten free and the chef even keeps gluten free bread available -- so when they bring out bread and after you sit down, they will bring you toasted GF bread. I thought that was pretty cool. Its a bit pricey and not the best place for kids, although we did drag two 4 year-olds and 2 toddlers with us and it worked out for better or for worse.

Some good options here:

Passion Fish is also listed on the map but now that it paginates the

listing doesn't show until page two.
