Does anyone know of a doctor (primary or GI) under the Blue Cross, SF or Oakland health plan (ideally HMO, but PPO might work) under the Hills Physician or Brown & Toland health group that focuses on helping Celiac Disease or gluten-intolerance patients? Also, due to huge frustrations in contending with less-educated HMO doctors on CD - and no recommendations in sight for other doctors, I've started working with HealthNow in Sunnyvale. I'm really happy with their approach thus far, but curious to know if anyone else is utilizing their serves, and if so, how you feel about it - and what end result did you get? Positive? Hi Louise

I am a nutrition educator and work part time for Dr. (internal

medicine) in Daly City. He is a functional medicine doc and associated with

Brown & Toland health group. I specialize in working with people with celiac,

other food allergies and intolerances so it's a great combination! I personally

have celiac and other food sensitivities.

I'm also very familiar with HealthNow. In fact, they're the ones who originally

diagnosed me. I'd be happy to provide more feedback, suggestions directly. Feel

free to give me a call 408-507-7037.

I've been going to HealthNOW for a couple of years. Recently diagnosed with

Gluten sensitivity. I would recommend them. (It's a little expensive but worth

it).

Hi Steve:Thank you for responding to my HealthNow inquiry via the Celiac Group.I just started their program with an elimination diet and detoxing off coffee (ugh!).I am glad I found them, and it seems like their approach might work well...far less invasive, more organic in nature/approach, and more knowledgeable than my primary care doctors regarding Celiac Disease and secondary health affects of CD.Given that I hadn't heard of HealthNow until their forum in Menlo Park several weeks ago, I thought some feedback from others would be useful.Thank you, Louise Audellart + designlouiseaudell.comFrom: Steve <sayd2my@...> Sent: Fri, November 13, 2009 6:24:04 PMSubject: [ ] Re: CD Doc Rec / Feedback
