Guest guest
Ann, I had the same idea about the NEBH meeting room...I suppose it is a possibility...but for those so inclined (and narcotic free)it might be nice to be able to have a beverage. I do remember thinking the chairs were very uncomfortable at the conference room I was at spine class in. I may take you up on the offer of a ride since I think I will be coming from downtown and and her sister are out in in. We can figure those details later... and if you can think of a better place to meet just sing out. When you were talking SI joints with Rand did he have any sense of how quickly they have progressed from old xrays? I had questioned him about this and he said he had only had one other patient who experienced this (and it wasn't you)....but maybe not enough time has elapsed since the advent of revisions to say for sure what the course of events will be with our backs. Gel insoles R US! Love that you had your hysterectomy and were unloading your dishwasher that afternoon...you make the rest of us look like slackers!!! Take Care and congrats on your solid fusion, Cam
Guest guest
Thanks Nan - I wish we lived closer too! Lorrie [ ] Boston Dinner Hi everyone To those of you meeting in Boston in a few weeks, I am extremely jealous! I really feel a deep connection to all of you & what your input has done for me emotionally, and it would be so nice to meet. If it were a few days later, I might be able to justify the trip as my daughters spring break starts on March 20th, and we could always visit my brother in Sandy Hook Ct. ( a few hrs. from Boston ) But such is life, we will do it another time. Cam, I'm sorry I have not gotten back with you to verify my surgery date with Dr. B. It is on May 2nd. I am going to St. Louis this weekend for a follow up and to have those lovely pictures taken. Kam, I am so sorry that you are still not feeling well. I know that I will probably be the same way. Anxious to get on with it, and being in the summer, I know that I will want to get out & play. My friend here always looks forward to summer, as do I, so we can lay around her pool and have a few cool beverages to beat the heat. I'm afraid that it is not going to happen this year. Lorrie, I'm so sorry that we do not live closer. I would watch your daughter for you. I don't consider myself a senior, but have had experience with my grandkids. Like Cam said, do check around. I can only imagine how hard it must be for you. Mine is pretty self sufficient at 16, and she now has her license, and my husband works from home, so I will be doubly blessed. Joyce, Please don't work yourself to hard. I can imagine that you are glad to get back to some sort of a routine again. Well all, it's time to get busy. I have 15 women coming tonight, and I have things to do. Been trying to get everything in . Only 2 mos. left. Hugs to all, Nan scoliosis veterans * flatback sufferers * revision candidates

Guest guest
, Good on ya! It sounds okay to me...for those that are not sure...the food is very acceptable there, and for those that want to move on to a more social venue we can always move on if need be. At least there wouldn't be a hovering waitress looking for us to pay up and move on. In this case, I guess we have already paid, one way or the other. I think everyone knows where NEBH is, or could find it. The parking is plentiful, although there is a small charge for that. Thoughts? Guest guest
, I don't want to leave things hanging, so, much as I'd love to be there, I'd better decline. My hubby is in for plenty with this whole surgery thing, and I don't want to use him up, so to speak. Driving an hour (assuming reasonable traffic flow) into the city by myself is normally sufficient cause for trepidation; doing it during rush hour and with flatback pain is more than I can do and call it a good time. I really appreciate that you and Cam opened this up to the whole group, and I do hope I'll be up for the next one. If we can schedule it on a Sunday like the first one 2 years ago, that will be best. Guest guest
Does anyone want me to mention our dinner to Joe O'Brien, who heads the National Scoliosis Foundation, which is based in this area? He had his revision surgery with Dr. Rand at the Baptist several years ago. By the way, what time are we meeting on the 15th?
Guest guest
--Cam, Your assumption is correct 5/5:30, give folks a chance to get in and get settled before we eat etc. I have no strong feelings either way on who comes to the dinner...I am happy to meet anyone who is connected to the world of flatback....I have extended to Rand and PRiscilla to stop by and say hello, I did not want them to " hear " we were at the hospital and not give them the chance to stop in..I know they are very busy and may not be able to do so but the offer has been extended....I made that executive decision on my own..sorry in advance if it bothers anyone....,PA P.S> Cam, when did you start driving again after revision..I am getting a hankering to get out on my own...I won't do it until I talk to Priscilla but was curious??? - In , " cammaltby " <cammaltby@...> wrote: > > Kim, > > I would think we would like to keep this dinner more a chance to > continue to build on relationships we have started here in this group, > and since Joe has not paricipated...perhaps that would change the > dynamic of the dinner?... just my opinion, and I would galdly go the > other way if there was energy around the idea of inviting him. Guest guest
I have been in touch with him over the years and thought that it would be nice to meet him. He was the one from whom I learned about Rand, who did his surgery, as my original orthopedic surgeon referred me elsewhere. I understand how you feel that he has not been part of the list. Hopefully, I will meet him in another context.
