Guest guest
Still think modern medicine wants to heal you? P.S. I think that doctors treat symtoms and try to stabilize today's problem instead of figuring out how you got there. Some are healers and some are just in it for the money. Because of lawsuits, I think they're less and less willing to stray from established procedures. I have to say that I'm certainly not impressed with the Naturopaths and homeopaths I've gone to either. They sell cleanses for hundreds of dollars and have never really done much for me. Maybe I just haven't been to the right one.
Guest guest
I agree with you. I have also seen many in the " Natural Healing " field that get stuck in the retail mode. It's an unfortunate consequence of our society and trying to make a decent living. I find around here the doc's that put the Natural label on their practice and charge big bucks make plenty of money, but I just try to help people without charging much or selling them bunches and they don't go for it. And the fact that insurance won't cover you doing stuff to stay well, makes this a hard business to survive in financially. Guest guest
I was just starting the fourteenth installment in the Janet Evanovich " Plum " series and it occurred to me that some of you out there recovering from your surgeries might be in search of a good read. I was turned on to this writer a couple years ago and just tore through the series...it is a departure from what I usually read and these books make me laugh out loud. The first installment is called " One for the Money " and the writer sold the rights to Hollywood to make it into a movie...so many of you might already know about her. I got most of the books from the library and then I started buying them as they came out on the shelf because I don't want to wait. Food comes up a lot in the books and I don't know if it's universal but these books make me hungry so be prepared. Robin
Guest guest
I've been gluten-free for about 3 weeks now and after having withdrawal symptoms I am starting to feel much better, lost no weight as yet but gained none either (hope for me yet!!) I haven't got the nutrition sorted yet though, luckily I tend to eat plenty of fresh fruit, cheese, meat, fish and vegetables anyway so I think I'll be OK till I've sussed it. My main problem is that gluten free means added maize / corn flour which I'm intolerant to, trying desperately to find a reasonably costing supply of buckwheat flour to make bread with!! Need a source of fibre too, any ideas? Rice bran is available but way too expensive at nearly £6 per box. > Try going gluten free - as gluten causes many people to have a pot belly. > > Luv - Sheila > > > > ___ >
Guest guest
Hi Glynis, Fibre, brown rice is ok for me..... (tastes terrible though), I just make sure I eat fruit with peel on. Also Mangos have good amount of fibre I believe. I make a smoothie with mango and orange juice.. Just give up the bread, I use ricecakes instead. Beans on ricecakes is interesting Haven't lost a single ounce though.... and I've been gluten free since before Christmas.... x > > I've been gluten-free for about 3 weeks now and after having withdrawal symptoms I am starting to feel much better, lost no weight as yet but gained none either (hope for me yet!!) Guest guest
Hi , I'm officially addicted to brown rice cakes!! I've bought flour and bread flour with a view to making some bread at some point as all the bought versions have cornflour in them. I have tried giving up bread completely but not managed it yet(physically or mentally)!! I have made crumble mix for a savoury dish with the flour though and found it very successful. I found a brown rice cereal for breakfast made by Dove which is quite nice but I'm still wondering how to ensure I get all my vits. and minerals - I have never had much faith in supplements!! I love mangos so that'll help, dunno about eating bananas with the skin on though LOL!!!! > > Hi Glynis, > > Fibre, brown rice is ok for me.....
