Her doctor says she has " motility issues, " i.e her body doesn't absorb nutrients. At this point she's down to 90 pounds, very weak, and not getting better. > > Here's my question: do any of you have good recommendations for someone she could see who could help? Guest guest
Long shot -- is she eating dairy? A couple of years after CD diagnosis, I developed dairy intolerance -- and didn't realize it. I became almost too weak to stand, too weak to think. My electrolyte balance was dangerously off. CD and lactose/casein intolerance often go together. Best wishes. I do hope a solution is found very soon. Hi-- I'm writing for my neighbor, who is a middle--aged patient of Dr. Aron (Stanford). She has been sick for 2 years with what was diagnosed as reflux. She had surgery for that but has not gotten any better (and perhaps worse). She has been told she doesn't have celiac disease but knows she is gluten intolerant as the slightest bit of gluten makes her sick. Her doctor says she has "motility issues," i.e her body doesn't absorb nutrients. At this point she's down to 90 pounds, very weak, and not getting better. Here's my question: do any of you have good recommendations for someone she could see who could help? Please email me directly or to the list. I'm hoping to bring her some suggestions--she's literally too weak and dizzy to use the computer. Thanks in advance-- palmersmccd (DOT) edu
