I think it's good a thing to place a GF label on products containing GF oats (assuming they're otherwise GF, of course.) I'd be delighted to find a bar or cookie containing GF oats, which I can eat.

Some people with CD can't eat any type of oats, and they probably know that. Some can eat oats from dedicated sources. With appropriate information, each of us can make a choice.

Yes, I agree with others that products with any oats should not be labeled gluten free -- wheat free, yes, gluten free, no. That kind of labeling imperils too many people and is only going to cause a flood of complaints to Starbucks or whichever retailer who sells the product.
