Guest guest
Hi Type " vitamin mineral urine testing UK " into Google and you will get a few places up that do such testing. Luv - Sheila I am aware you can have your vitamins/minerals tested via urine. has anyone had this done and how much does it cost. i have looked at geneva diagnostics and i am not sure which tests i should go for. also they are quite expensive. has anyone done one and has it helped you improve your health? Guest guest
Hello, I just had researched on this topic, Genova labs is a leading lab in Functional Medicine, which was firstly introduced by Nobel Prize winner-Linus ing. Personally I think it worths having nutrional elements evaluated before taking supplements.Blood and Urine samples count. Please refer to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Functional_medicine Fragrance > > I am aware you can have your vitamins/minerals tested via urine. has anyone had this done and how much does it cost. i have looked at geneva diagnostics and i am not sure which tests i should go for. also they are quite expensive. > > has anyone done one and has it helped you improve your health? >
Guest guest
Just say you want a Vitamin D test. It should be as simple as that! However, being tested for Vitamin D every couple of months -- is that usual? You could ask your doctor what a desirable frequency is. My apologies for not trimming the string; tonight when I try, I lose the entire message. How did you get your doctor to test it? Thanks, From: Luther <l@...> Sent: Mon, April 19, 2010 4:01:12 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Vitamin deficiencies Make sure you are taking D3 and not D2. There are studies showing that D2 does not stay in your system more than a couple days. It took my mother about a year to get her vitamin D levels up. She often takes 5 to 10k per day of D3. I'm not sure if there is a "max" you should take on a daily basis or not, but I take 5-10k per day on days that I remember to take my vitamins (a few times a week at least). I think there might also be issues on absorbing the vitamin D by eating certain foods with intake. I'm not sure... maybe do some googling for more research. Whatever you do if you get tested every couple of months you can track the progress at least. On Mon, Apr 19, 2010 at 2:34 PM, blick48 <jsonnenblick> wrote: I'm 7 months GFree. Prior to being diagnosed with Celiac I was anemic and had low D. My levels have been going up with supplementation. However, I still have neck pain which I had pre diagnosis. My neck pain improved after being out in the sun all day this weekend leading me to believe the neck pain is due to a continuing vitamin D deficiency. My question is how long has it taken somen of you to correct your vitamin deficiencies? I've been staged a Marsh IIIa and I know it can take up to 4-5 years to completely heal my gut, but I thought I'd be aborbing vitamins better after 7 months. I take about 2000mg of D a day. I just had a blood test and will see what my levels are when I get the results but obviously I do better getting my D from the sun then from supplements. I also think I still have iron deficiency problems causing fatigued muscles. Any input would be appreciated.
Guest guest
My GI would run my mineral tests every 6 months. When I still wasn’tfeeling good after 2 years of being GF and moved here and found a new doc shesuggested it. She did a full blood panel of everything and saw my levels wereoff. I saw an endocrinologist just to make sure everything was ok. Heprescribed me 50,000 IU of Vit D once a week and said my GI could take it fromthere, no need to see him again. I did that until my levels were right again. I also went through 6 mos of getting B12 injections until those rose. Before Iwas diagnosed w/ CD I was anemic and on iron (the cause came out after I wasdiagnosed.) through the years ive been on iron supplements when my levels arelow…and then I go off it (something I’ll probably do/monitor for the rest of mylife.) On my own I make sure to get my minerals checked every year toyear and a half…maybe that’s obsessive, I just feel more comfortable that way. - From: [mailto: ] OnBehalf Of HarperSent: Tuesday, April 20, 2010 11:07 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Vitamin testing Just say you want a Vitamin D test.
