Over the past couple of years a number of you participated in South

Bay/Peninsula GF pot lucks; however, for some time activity has been on

hold. I am under the impression that the gluten free population is

present in our area; however, unlike other Northern California

communities, such as Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Marin, East Bay, Walnut

Creek, Benicia, Santa , etc., we haven't found the glue to keep the

organization together and moving forward. The most successful Northern

California GF organizations have a stable public venue - often a

hospital or medical facility - for occasional business meetings and

professional resource and a few social gatherings during the year. In

our own case we have lacked the former - public venue and professional

resource - but generally have good turnout at social gatherings. People

enjoy getting together in person.

I would like to re-energize the Peninsula - South Bay organization, I am

currently in the early stages of working with a medical facility to tie

down a quarterly venue and potentially engage with them on joint

programming that benefits the local gluten free community. This is a

longer term process. The target meeting location is Mountain View/Palo

Alto. Most likely quarterly meetings would be during the week (day

depends on meeting room availability) from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

More immediately, my wife and I would like to host the venue for a

backyard barbecue pot luck in Sunnyvale. Our target dates are either (1)

Saturday May 15 - the Saturday prior to the Stanford Celiac Conference

or (2) Sunday May 23 - the Sunday immediately after the Stanford

conference.

Please let me know by email if you are interested in either the

continuing Peninsula - South Bay organization or attending the pot luck.

If you are interested in the pot luck, please let me know your preferred

date: (1) May 15 or (2) May 23. Email address is vdolcourt at dot

com.

Hallie and I look forward to hearing from you.

Vic - Sunnyvale
