I have been partnered with a service dog for 13 years now. His name is Neutron,

and he is a Chiuhuahua. He's getting on in years, as he is at least 14, maybe

older. The vet says his kidneys are starting to go :^(

I'm doing as much as i can for him, but I'm also thinking ahead. I trained him

myself (I have many years experience as a dog trainer). I have a new puppy that

I bred myself. I have been raising him since birth to be my next service dog.

Besides the usual stuff, it just occurred to me that maybe I can teach him to

smell out gluten in foods! Wouldn't that be WONDERFUL??? I could let him sniff

all my food, and tell me if it has any gluten in it. I'm not sure exactly how

to do this, but I am going to look into it. If i can do it, I may be able to

train dogs for other celiacs. Imagine being able to go to a restaurant and not

have to be worried?
