Guest guest
My husband thinks a service dog would be a great idea. Then he asked, " And... who will clean up the poop??? Guest guest
We have a service dog for my son . It has done wonders for him. We got a boxer named Honey. She's a little bigger than we had wanted but her personality and size were just what he needed. She actually brings him back into our world when he zones out, she makes him play with her and is stockier so she handles his little tantrums. He now even will clean up after her. (it's still a fight to get him to clean up after himself lol) It has been GREAT for him. Guest guest
I have heard of dogs being trained for protecting kids with peanut allergies. Maybe you could start by investigating how they train those dogs. I think the article I read was in Living Without magazine. Pam Besides the usual stuff, it just occurred to me that maybe I can teach him to smell out gluten in foods! Wouldn't that be WONDERFUL??? I could let him sniff all my food, and tell me if it has any gluten in it. I'm not sure exactly how to do this, but I am going to look into it. If i can do it, I may be able to train dogs for other celiacs. Imagine being able to go to a restaurant and not have to be worried?
