Wondering what everyone uses for GF and DF cooking

options?

Sheryl…do you have some ideas?

Yogurt

Buttermilk and other cultured cow products ?

I fond Vegan Gourmet for sour cream but it’s not very

good.

Here is my preferences:

I use almond milk for cereal and baking--I

don’t drink milk anyway—has a pleasant mild taste and it isn’t

sweet like I’ve heard soy milk can be. I also like coconut milk.

I use almond cheese, which comes in

cheddar, jalapeño jack, and basil/garlic white cheese. All have very

pleasant flavors, melt well (great on sandwiches and pizzas), and are very low

in fat. I like soy Veggie Shreds, especially the parmesean/romano style, but in

general I prefer almond cheeses—taste and melts better than soy products.

Yogurt comes made with coconut milk, and I’ve

heard cottage cheese does too but I haven’t found it.

Coconut ice cream is fabulous. I have

found 2 brands with at least 10 flavors. I love the mango/pistachio and the

plain coconut. They are not low fat, but ice cream is a treat anyway. Whole

Foods carries, but I have yet to find in Lucky’s or Safeway.

I love Earth Balance buttery spread. I

have never liked margarines and used regular butter instead until I found this

brand.
