Interesting that you mention this. I ate some the other day and felt awful. I'm going to email them and find out if they use a dedicated bakehouse.

Hi all,

I know Udi's makes very tasty bread. But, I wonder, has anyone on this list had a problem with their bread? I had some for lunch today and I've not been feeling well since. It's unclear what the source or cause is, so I thought I would check our trusty list to see if anyone else has had reactions to Udi's. It's so yummy, I would be really upset if I could not eat it anymore. This is the second time I've felt funny after eating it.

Thanks for looking into this. I have been eating their bread for a while now, and had never had a reaction. But the last two times I've eaten it, have felt awful. As an FYI, I should better describe what I am feeling - light-headed, shaky, chills, cold sweats, abdominal cramps, foggy thinking. Very similar to a glutening.

I hope we can get to the bottom of this.

I think Udi's is great also. However (however!), I too felt awful after eating it. I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on. Then I tried it a couple of days later and whammo - sick again. Haven't eaten it since. (But it is definitely good bread!)

Did anyone hear back from Udi’s on this?  I sure sounds like

something has changed, especially when three separate celiacs suddenly react to

a product they never reacted to before.  I wonder if they switched suppliers or

used a different facility and got some cross contamination?

I called them on Friday to ask if they had any known issues with cross-contammination. They lady said no, was very receptive, but wanted the batch number from the loaf. Since I did not have it with me at the time, I will call back on Monday to report the batch number. Otherwise, I have not heard anything.
