Please note everyone, that putting copyright material on the web is a copyright

infringement. So, please check to be sure the authors allow it in the public

I don't believe that the author, Stanley Burroughs, would have approved of

Sucanat (whatever that is), or raw honey as the sweetner in the lemonade.

Indeed, in the book he warns specifically against honey. You are quite

accurate that Molasses is approved. Also mentioned is freshly extracted juice

from sugar cane which is difficult to obtain here in the US.

Also, the intestinal flush is quite important, for this is the method for

elimination of the toxins that the cayenne and lemon/lime juice help extract.

To fast and drink the lemonade without making provisions for healthy

elimination seems unwise to me.

IMHO, there are many benefits to reading the booklet before entering the fast

and to have it as a reference during the fast. A person serious about the

fast is going to spend more than the $5.95 cost of the booklet on raw maple

syrup and fresh lemon/lime juice during the fast. Why scrimp there? Having

the booklet around is a tangible reminder to do the fast again in 4-6 months.

I have no opinion on the typing of the booklet into a file for downloading. If

it is done, then people should use it. If not, buy the booklet.

Regards,

Jack

Whats to type up??

All it is is fresh squeezed lemon juice mixed in water,

with a little maple syrup (or Sucanat, or raw honey,

or unsulphured molasses) and cayenne extract. Drink as

much as you want, all day long, and NOTHING ELSE.

I did it for eleven days, and felt great the whole time!

Definitely felt better than my 34 day water fast...

I found the book to be very interested reading. Only typing for the people

who want it. If you don't want it that is ok too.

Sucanat is simply 'dehydrated sugar cane juice' which is

the next best thing to 'freshly extracted juice from sugar

cane'. :-)

As for honey, it is one of the perfect foods, as long as

it is raw and unprocessed. If you have a problem with sugar

(diabetic or other), be sure and use either Sage or Tupelo,

as the dominant sugars in these two honeys are levulose

instead of sucrose. Levulose is MUCH better tolerated by

diabetics. This is also the reason why these two honeys

are the ONLY ones that won't crystallize even if they

haven't been super heated (which is how you can tell if

the OTHER kinds of honey have been - if they don't crystallize,

they have been super-heated, if they do, they haven't).

That is why I would use Dr Schulzes #2 formula, which has

activated charcoal in it, which is IDEAL for absorbing toxins

without any of the danger of absorbing all of the salt if you

don't get the proportions right.

Maybe I should just post my Cleanse protocols to the list?

I've had the book for over 10 years, and have done the cleanse

4 or 5 times. I highly recommend it, but cleansing techniques

have come a long way since then.

also, according to Shulze's book - do a test pH at different times of the day

- and after eating different things to see if you are " alkaline enough " to do

a cleanse; depending on our degenerative your body state is in; you cannot do

harsh cleanses.

I am very interested in hearing/reading about your Cleanse protocols

, do post them up. I'm also interested in anyone's experiences

with the Shulze cleanse only(using his #1 & #2 formulas). I've done

the Master Cleanser twice, once in the winter and it wasn't easy with

incorporating the regimen into my work schedule and winter. I am

looking to do some type of cleanse now, yet something a little less

radical than the A & Shine(which I did 2 weeks of master & power phases

during the summer)-aah I've just thought maybe the mild version will

be ok for winter and a heavy work schedule

I'm also on the lookout for parasite 'purges.' I have a friend with

malaria(recurring every now and then) and another who has had

Giardia(?sp.) I suppose the creatures still inhabit his insides?!

Stay well.</BIGGER>

I would look into the formulas from A & S for the parasite

cleanses as well...they just have good products, and they

are not MLM.

As for which cleanse phase to use...you should never do

anything that you aren't comfortable with, so if you only

want to do the gentle phase, then by all means do so!

Different strokes for different folks...at least you are

DOING it, which places you far ahead of the majority of

people in the world.

Actually, that is Dr s book (Cleanse and Purify Thyself 1.5),

but right you are. Simply testing it once either from the saliva

or urine isn't enough in most cases.

Water fasts are for the birds and can be dangerous to those who are

depleted.

The MC can deplete calcium so be careful.

Statements like this are self-contradictory, and can be

dangerous to those who are depleted (mentally).

Yes, fasting CAN be dangerous. So can driving a car or

taking a bath...but does that mean you shouldn't do them?

Any fasting should be done intelligently, and diving into

a long water fast can indeed be dangerous. However, short

fasts of 1-5 days can not harm anyone (except some people

who may be in the last stages of terminal cancer, etc).

The only calcium that the MC can deplete is inorganic calcium,

whcih needs to be gotten rid of anyway. The myth of distilled

water 'leaching out' minerals from the body is both true and

false. It does leach out minerals, but ONLY INORGANIC ones.

It does not and CAN not (except in cases of extended fasts

that are engaged in by people who do not have enough knowledge

on how to properly conduct long fasts, and who end up fasting

beyond the point where the body starts feeding on its own

organs/muscle).

Anyone considering doing anything more than short fasts should

take it upon themselves to learn everything they can, and consult

physicians/professionals with experience in conducting long fasts,

and have someone who is available at a moments notice who can

either consult with them, or if necessary, examine them and advise

them in cases of extreme circumstances.

Anyone who doesn't take these precautions deserves whatever they get.

Although I have not had any personal experiences with the Master Cleanse, - I

am

interested to know what it is. Once I've experienced, - would be glad to

Thanks.

Thanks so much for the information! My husband and I did a similar type detox

at a wonderful " spa/resort " place called 'HeartSeed' just outside of Sante Fe

last

September. It was extremely helpful to do this type of thing with someone

else.

Our cravings for different things were at different times, - so we could be

strong

for each other. Made me realize just how much time is spent shopping,

preparing,

eating and cleaning up after the fact, - which amounted to ALOT of time that

could

be spent doing other things.

Although I am not mentally ready at this time, - I plan to follow this

Cleanse in the

not too distant future.

Thanks again!

Hello! The Master Cleanse is a fast developed by Stanley Burroughs designed

to rest the body's digestive system as it detoxes the body and cleanses the

colon. The elements of the fast also provide energy allowing the person

fasting to proceed with his/her normal daily activity.

Here are the basic elements:

1. Drink an oral salt water enema upon arising. To do this, add 2 level

teaspoons of uniodized sea salt to a quart of lukewarm water (the one-quart

juice bottles in which most organic juices come work very well). Shake well,

then drink the entire quart. Make sure you use uniodized sea salt; regular

or iodized salt will not have the same beneficial effect.

This oral enema will flush out your entire digestive tract and colon from

top to bottom, usually within an hour, prompting you to eliminate several

times, clearing out the plaque and debris from the walls, and the parasites

that have been living there.

2. Drink as many glasses as needed of the The Lemonade Drink:

Fill a jar w/ 8 oz. of Spring or purified water, between room temperature

and cool

Add 2 T. fresh (organic, if possible) lemon or lime juice (absolutely no

canned or frozen juice).

Add 2 T. real (organic, if possible) grade B or C maple syrup. (Don't use

Grade A maple syrup or maple-flavored syrup. They are over-refined, which

means that they are mostly refined sugars and lack essential minerals.)

A dash or more of cayenne pepper (to taste)

Close the jar lid, shake all the ingredients, and drink.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

----

To make a 1 quart (16 oz.) bottle:

Spring or purified water (fill bottles to the top)

1/4 c. lime/lemon juice

1/4 c. grade B or C maple A pinch of cayenne in each bottle

Mix all the ingredients by thoroughly shaking; then drink throughout the

day.

3. In the evening, drink an herbal laxative tea to loosen the bowels for the

salt water flush the next day.

It is recommended that you do this fast for a minimum of 10 days. There is

a little book called The Master Cleanse available at most health food

stores. It explains in greater detail how exactly the fast works.

If anyone has any personal experiences with this or knows of any URL's I

could refer others to, please share!

Thanks,

Shayla

When you go on a fast the body starts releasing stored toxins. In a normally

functioning liver, the toxins are activated by phase I enzymes (cytochrome P450)

producing as a byproduct, large amounts of free radicals and dangerous (toxic)

biotransformed phase I toxins. Phase I bio-transformation makes many

carcinogenic substances dangerous, where prior to being biotransformed, they

were relatively harmless. In a normal liver, phase II conjugation (glutathione)

mops up the phase I created free radicals and biotransformed toxins and escorts

them

out of the body. Now ..., if you go on a fast with poorly functioning phase I,

phase II, or both, you have a MESS!!! You are quite a bit worse off than you

were prior to your fast. The moral? Before you go on a fast, to insure proper

liver function, have a functional liver test done. At the very least, support

(up-regulate) the liver phase I and II enzyme systems with a proper and adequate

supply of nutrients.

Hi,

I have started a fasting forum list where I am sharing my experiences on my

present fast. Currently, I am at Day 7 and doing well. Here is where to

sign up:

/subscribe.cgi/FastingForum

In the past, I have noticed many wonderful benefits from doing the Master

Cleanse. It helped me become more regular, my skin always looked radiant,

and my overall health improved. This time I am tackling some more difficult

health problems so it hasn't been as easy to feel the results yet. But I

know it is the right thing for my body!

Warm and healthy regards,

Shayla
