Guest guest
Hi Henry, Interesting commentary, thanks for sharing. Just one thing I'd like to point out though... > At this level of intake the MC is in fact a semi-starvation diet. This isn't necessarily true. The body doesn't go strictly by 'calorie intake' to judge whether or not to go into 'starvation mode'. It goes by whether or not you are hungry. As long as you keep your body from 'feeling starved', it doesn't go into starvation mode. There have been numerous studies showing the health benefits of reduced calorie lifestyles - more energy, ideal weight maintenance, increased lifespan (shown using studies on mice), etc. Also, not all calories are equal. You could easily get by with half the calories, if those calories are a high quality. If you combine the use of activated charcoal/clay slurries with the MC, you will not only maintain that feeling of being 'full', thereby keeping your body out of 'starvation mode', and dramatically increasing the amount of toxins eliminated, as well as reducing or even eliminating most of the uncomfortable aspects of cleansing ('aka 'cleansing reactions' or the 'healing crisis'). Just my .02 clad coins worth...
Guest guest
Hi , Recipe for the charcoal slurries, please? Why does one always put in their .02 worth when it's only a penny for your thought? lol Gail - In oxyplus , Marcus <tanstaafl@...> wrote: > > If you combine the use of activated charcoal/clay slurries with the MC, > you will not only maintain that feeling of being 'full', thereby keeping > your body out of 'starvation mode', and dramatically increasing the > amount of toxins eliminated, as well as reducing or even eliminating > most of the uncomfortable aspects of cleansing ('aka 'cleansing > reactions' or the 'healing crisis'). > > Just my .02 clad coins worth... >
Guest guest
> Recipe for the charcoal slurries, please? This one can vary, but the only general required ingredient is activated charcoal - that, and no 'food' ingredients. I use quite a bit - anywhere from 2-5 tablespoons, depending on the size of the glass/amount of water you are adding it to. I like Dr. Schulze's #2 formula (Intestinal Cleanser), but the psyllium seeds aren't ground enough to my liking, so I use it as a starter, sift the unground seeds out, grind them up good, then add quite a bit more activated charcoal. I started taking these immediately before and after my ozone sauna's to see how it worked on reducing the 'rashing' (after hearing about it on this list), and it indeed works well. I've known about charcoal and clay for detox for a long time, but never thought about using them like this to reduce the rashing.

Guest guest
Hi , Master Cleanse is 6-8 glasses of the Lemonaid. The lemonaid is made by 2 oz lemon, 2 oz pure maple syrup & caynene pepper and water. You also drink your 2 liters of water. Then at night you have a tea of Smooth Move. Then first think in the AM you have a Quart of warm water with 1 tsp of sea salt. But then you will need to stay by the bathroom Please see www . curezone . com for a forum discussion and a wealth of information on this. They say you should stay on this a minimum of 10 days but then you should very SLOWLY come off of the juice fast and have a piece of fruit and veggie broth and slowly add raw veggies and fruit and then can slowly add back other foods. This is not a diet but a great way to cleanse your system, but be very careful when coming off as you can gain weight very fast. I am going to do my colon cleanse while doing this. HOpefully it will not be too hard on my body. I'm not sure who asked about this, but ... > I have done this a few times, and will be doing it before I go on > Phase 2. Guest guest
The master cleanse is great, I did it for 16 days and lost 14 lbs. But you are right when you say be careful, I gained 5 lbs back. But the master cleanse is not a weight loss method and I wasn't too disappointed, because I knew my body was cleansed. I felt so good. My nails and skin cleared up. If you think Dr siemons protocol takes will power, try not putting anything solid in your body. It's a good way to test your strength. I had loads of energy though. It was great and cheap. Guest guest
Personnally I feel it is more of a fast than a cleanse. I have found deeper cleansing with herbs to be far more effective in cleaning out illnesses and old crud from deep in the tissues. For many people coming from eating a lot of restaurant foods heavy in oils or a past of loads of dairy or meat or both, just giving their digestive systems a rest allows the body to rejuvinate to some degree and they feel and start looking so much better so they think this cleanse is a the best thing ever. It's fine but doesn't do much in the long run I believe at least at this point from what I've seen in the last 20 years. Guest guest
I've probably done the master cleanse 10-12 times in my life--when I think of it now, it seems terribly yin to me!!! it's obviously very yin as it's just water/herbal tea you're drinking the entire time, and you're getting your nutrition from maple syrup...I think for some, it may have some good benefits. Namely, those who want to clean out their intestines in a hurry, and perhaps even for people who want to clean out their palettes. I have a friend who quit smoking using the Master Cleanse, as it cleans out your blood and will help significantly with cravings from the additives. One of the greatest blessings it brought me every time I did the cleanse, is I would be so astonishingly sensitive to taste when I would go back to food. I know mb thinks cleansing is an extreme, but it could definitely work for some individuals. do you have someone in mind? do you have an intuitive connection with the person (if it's not yourself) that might help you ascertain if it's what they need? For someone very yang, it might be a good 3-day detox. (this is strictly my own opinion!) The 3 days leading into it are very important, like eating simply. (I always eat no spices, and lightly steamed/simple dishes before going into it so the digestion is ready) some people detox very quickly, and it's not entirely safe for them. I am one of those people who seem to release fairly quickly, and I have to watch myself. there have been a few times I've had to have brown rice while on it. Now that I have some mb experience, if I did decide to ever do the Master Cleanse again, I would probably just have rice cream. this is just a trailing thought--but since the MC drink is essentially one that helps the body release toxins but is also alkaline, do you think you could induce the same conditions but with a little more stability with ume sho kuzu and perhaps just sweet veg drink for a few days? just musing... Guest guest
Holly please be very careful with ume sho kudzu drink. It is more powerful than most people realize and it is medicine. Highly alkaline can be great when you need it but I would not recommend it for a fast. Kudzu itself is used to make noodles and other dishes and could be used as food for a meal or so but a rice cream fast like you were thinking can be a simple cleanse. Again, for people who really want to heal and clean the old grunge in the body, I really like cleanses done with herbs and there are several herbalists that have very good organic products. For many people, eating a good whole foods diet can be cleansing enough. Guest guest
It seems extreme to me... 10 days of only this might cause me to rebound by eating a bunch of junk, thus making the whole cleanse totally useless!! Guest guest
, Thought that I would mention that some people feel that doing a fast or a cleanse on an equinox is especially beneficial & balancing. And the next one in September is not too far away..... A few years ago, another group of macro people did the rice & umeboshi plum fast together (started on the equinox). Very interesting to hear the various reactions. And have you ever done a cycle of ginger compresses over the intestines? They can help dislodge old crud. Good luck. Guest guest
Thanks. I was at a friend's place y'day and she had the book, I flipped through it. She's thinking of doing it. It says to do for 10 days. I thought wow cleanse, get rid of the extra pounds I put on, clear up my skin, etc. Well, I'm sure I couldn't handle 10 days and I don't like the idea of the maple syrup. This chick eats sugar tho vegan so I don't think the syrup would flip out her body as it would mine. I like your idea of the ume shoyu kuzu and sweet veggie drink If I cleanse I may try that.
