Guest guest
Hi, Jeri is doing better today (after a very rough Saturday evening and Sunday). She had a tough time waking and was taken off ALL narcotic medicines from about midday Sunday to Monday morning. She was very uncomfortable Sunday evening and angrier than a beehive over a bonfire this morning. Being in isolation until the cultures came back didn't help either. I feel sorry for the nurses (it wasn't their fault). Turns out she indeed had an infection. Infectous disease docs say it was a non-resistant staph. They are going to whack it with a sustained dose of antibiotics over the next couple days. We are truly hoping this is the turning point since we are all tired of the hospital. It'll be 2 weeks on Feb. 12. Dr. Tribus says it is easier to track her this way - somehow I'm not seeing the humor... She enjoys the e-cards and notes. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Gee, what a journey. I hope they've got the antiboidics going full speed in her IV so she can get rid of the infection and get back home. Then both of you can rest. My hat is off to you, with all that you're handling and you still take time to give us a much anticipated update on Jeri's condition. I am thankful that it isn't a MRSA infection, and that she'll be cured in a couple of days. Hospitals - sometimes you get infections that live in that environment. It doesn't seem right, but no matter what they try to do to eliminate that, it just isn't possible - and it's hard to understand. So, again, here's to hoping that Jeri gets home soon so you both can get some rest and start getting on with your lives.
