Did you have a difficult time conviencing your doctor you have parasites in light of the negative test. Are you covered by insruance? And if so, did they balk at having any retests? Has anyone else had difficulities with testing and retesting? I'm already sensing conflict with my insurance covered gastroentenologist about the source of my illness. I'm concerned the insurance coverage will be denied with one negative result. I did not even know that they had a retesting policy. The MD I went to who was covered by GHI (my insurance) did not offer me this option. <<Did you have a difficult time conviencing your doctor you have parasites in light of the negative test.>> Oddly enough both the GHI doctor and a " tropical medicine " doctor my sister sent me to did not disbelieve that I had parasites after negative tests. (The trop med doctor did the tests in his own lab). They just didn't really know how to treat them since nothing identifiable came up on the tests. The GHI doctor suggested I continue with my herbs and the tropical medicine doctor prescribed a broad spectrum vermifuge which worked ok but really no better than the Awareness products. Actually not as good. <<Are you covered by insruance? And if so, did they balk at having any retests?>> My insurance covered the first doctor, as I said, but not the second one, who was very expensive, on Fifth Avenue in New York. Actually I wouldn't have gone to him except my sister insisted I go and she paid. << Has anyone else had difficulities with testing and retesting? You can't really know about the insurance until you try. Perhaps if you switched doctors and they ordered different tests--at least through different labs--it would slip through the insurance? Although all in all the fact is you can get tested until your face turns blue and still come out negative when you are very positive--the tests just are not that reliable. And I'm not sure the Rx drugs are any more effective than the herbs. The one I got was not. Robin G..
