Guest guest
Hello , here is some info on fluoridation from the book called " Healthy Healing " by Page N.D. Ph.D.... MYTHS ABOUT FLUORIDE: Fiction: Fluoride is safe for humans. Fact 1:Fluoride is more toxic than lead, and even in minute doses, is damaging to brain/mind development of children. In areas where fluorosis (fluoride poisoning) is prevalent, a higher concentration of fluoride is found in fetal brain tissue of unborn children. Fact 2: Some studies show that fluoride is linked to Alzheimer's and senile dementia. One link appears to come through a fluoride-aluminum combination in the brain. A new study shows fluoride increases the body's absorption of aluminum from deodorants, or pots and pans by over 600%! The aluminum concentration in the brains of alzheimer's patients is 15 times higher than in healthy individuals. Fact 3: Hip fracture rates are nuch higher in people living in fluoridated communities. Fluoride's cumulative effect on bone density is devastating. Fact 4: Postmenopausal women, people over 50, people with nutrient deficiencies and people with cardiovascular and kindney problems are especially affected by fluoride ixposure. Our own U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services stated in its Toxicological Profile (1993) that " postmenopausal women and elderly men in fluoridated communinties may be at increase risk for bone fractures. " Fiction: Calcium fluoride found naturally in water is safe. Fact 1: All forms of fluoride are poisonous. The most toxic forms are those with a higher solubility of free fluoride ions such as in hydrofluosilicic acid, a hazardous waste product of the phosphate fertilizer which is the substance routinely added to fluoridate water. Fiction: Fluoride reduces tooth decay. Fact 1: National survey data by the National INstitute of dental Research shows that children who live fluoridated areas have tooth decay rates almost identical with those who live in non-fluoridated areas. Even large-scale studies show no difference in decay rates of permanent teeth in fluoridated and non-fluoridated areas. In fact, in a recent study by the New york Department of Health, children who drink fluoridated water have more cavities and tooth discoloration than children who drink non fluoridated water. Fact 2: The U.S. National Research Council admits that dental fluorosis (fluoride poisoning causing teeth to become brittle and chip easily) affects from 8% to 51% of children drinking fluoridated water. Dental fluorosis has steadily increased since the introduction of fluoride to drinking water in 1945. Fiction: Mandatory water fluoridation is safe for the Amerincan population. Fact 1: Evidence from animal and human epideciology studies links fluoride exposure to cancer, genetic damage, nervous system dysfunction and bone disesases. Fluoride exposure is also linked to low IQ in children. Fiction: Fluoride toothpaste is safe and prevents cavities. Fact 1: a University of Arizona study finds that the more fluoride a child drinds, the more cavities appear. Fact 2: The poison control center receives over 11,000 calls a year for poisoning from ingesting fluoride toothpaste. In 1997, the FDA even mandated a poison warning label on fluoride toothpaste! Small children, who tend to swallow toothpaste are most at risk. Look for non-fluoridated toothpastes like Nature's Gate Spearmint or Cnnamon Toothpaste at your health food store. My own favorite is the Ayurvedic herb peelu (literally " tree for tooth care. " ). Peelu is a natural antibacterial that removes tartar and has natural chlorine to help whiten teeth. It is very effective! I buy mine from Peelu Products. LTD at 1-800-457-3358 or you can search the Internet under Peelu and you will find other places that carry it. I hope this helps.
