Guest guest
Wanted to let everyone know that we stopped in at Casey’s Café yesterday. We had a delicious lunch and a great conversation with Casey, the woman who owns and runs it. She is committed to providing good dining experiences for as many of her restricted diet customers as possible. At this point all of her soups (except the Guinness Stew which was a special) are gluten free, including the excellent Clam Chowder. She has GF soy sauce and will switch to that exclusively when she runs out of the regular stuff. She can make her Chinese Chicken salad with other noodles if requested. She offered to cook us French Fries in a separate pot of oil if we wished (we passed). She is experimenting with Rice paper for sandwiches and is also playing with Schar pasta for a GF pasta option. Casey seems very knowledgeable about the topic (she’s going wheat free on her own diet for health reasons and has read up a lot). She was familiar with cross contamination, etc. etc. At this point she’s still doing a lot of experimenting but is eager to broaden the list of GF offerings. So please encourage her by stopping by when you’re in HMB. 328 Main St. #101. (650) 560-4880.
