Guest guest
What I've read over the years is that grain-fed meat or poultry is safe to eat. Meat and poultry with fillers or solutions isn't safe to eat unless the fillers or solutions are GF. You have to check with the producer. Hello Everyone – Any theories on if grain fed eat is safe for celiac? How about meat with fillers/solutions such as in chicken and turkey? Guest guest
On the same note, what about grain-fed dairy products?I've read that gluten is passed on in human breast milk if the mother eats gluten. So what about grain-fed cows? Would there be gluten in cheese and milk? If not why not? I wondered about this a year or two ago and I know someone who is celiac and only eating cheese from Ireland where supposedly all cows are grass-fed... Guest guest
From celiacdisease.about.com: Question: Can There Be Gluten In Breast Milk? Answer: Yes, gluten has been found in human breast milk. This means that if a non-celiac mother is nursing a baby or a toddler with confirmed celiac disease, the mother needs to maintain a gluten-free diet. If neither the baby nor the mother has confirmed celiac disease, the mother should continue to eat gluten, even if there is a history of celiac disease in the family, because there is a chance that exposure to gluten in breast milk will actually help the baby to develop a normal immune response to gluten. -----Original Message----- From: Cheryl and Jim Lucas <csjdlucas@...> Sent: Wed, Mar 10, 2010 8:34 pm Subject: RE: [ ] Grain fed Meat?
