I was able to give myself magnesium injections because my doc prescribed it

be mixed with zylocaine injecatable. Otherwise, I would have had to have

them given by someone else because I hear they are very painful.

, I am using Mag Sulphate in combo with Taurine and Procaine.

I have been doing this since Oct with Cheney's order. If you would

like the exact amounts, feel free to email me.

I'm experimenting with Mg. My doctor tells me that he suspects that I need IV

or Mg injections. He says that people can get so deficient in Mg that taking

oral supplements will not help - the gut being the limiting factor. So, I'm

trying a Merle - I'm mixing it in lotion and spreading it on my stomach. Too

early to tell, but it does seem to relax me - hopefully a sign that my body is

absorbing it. I'll keep you posted on any discoveries. (I'm not getting the

injections because in order to do that I need to have a $225 EXA test done to

determine my Mg level. I can't afford $225 right now).

Magnesium Injections

I have been doing magnesium w/ taurine injections for about 2 weeks

and over that time my brain fog has increased.

When I do the injections, about 45 minutes later(when enters the

blood stream), I get real foggy. Not just drowsy, but I have trouble

focusing, concentrating. For example, I'll be watching TV and won't

be able to follow the plot. I am wondering if this has happened to

anyone else.

My Dr. says that it is unusual, and he thinks it may be the

preservatives. The only preservative is phenol, and I haven't had a

problem w/ that in the past (in kutapressin). I am going to try it

w/o preservatives anyway.

Just wondering others experiences with magnesium.

Thanks.

I'd try the shots without the preservatives AND without the taurine and

see what happens. I've never heard of or experienced such a problem as

you describe using unpreserved mag alone or with lidocaine. In fact I have

often felt sharper cognitively (though not always) after a shot.'

Hi Tania!

Laughed at your comment about doing 'a Merle'. Hope it is wildly successful.

Magnesium injections are pretty uncomfy! If you don't have any problems

with absorbtion, why not take the capsules or tablets? There are

several products out that contain magnesium and malic acid. Myo-mag is

one. Look for products with this combo wherever you buy your vitamins.

You can also buy taurine. It should be combined with insositol.

1500mg/day of each is recommended for neuropathy and may help with

CFS/FM.

after a while. But how do you know when that time is?

This is my point. How do you know if you have problems with absorption? What

symptom are you trying to get rid of?

Thanks,

Doris

Doris,

I went off the mag and taurine injections after a year thinking that if I

take 1000+ mg. of each orally it would have to equal or exceed the benefits

of injecting a single milligram and would save me $. However, in my case

injecting a single mg. is clearly more beneficial than the oral mega-doses.

I don't know why. Maybe I have a malabsorption problem. Both help protect

the brain, aid sleep, and are deficient in many PWC's. I don't know about

FM's. Steve B.

Hi

So how did you know that the injection was working better than the pills. Were

you sleeping better? Did your brain work better?

Thanks!

Toronto. I'll have to touch base with her sometime to find out

more. Now you've got me curious.

I don't know about injections of B Complex and C. But

we, my husband and I, were almost killed by l-tryptophan

in the 80s and are still recovering.

We were involved in a double blind protocol at town

U Medical Center DC..to study magnesium by injection and

it's effects on muscles and overall well being.

It turned out I received the mag and he got the placebo. But

it has been very helpful to me. He doesn't want to take the

shots. But does now and then.

Otherwise I take B12 in the form of methylcobalamin.

But oral mag does not do a thing for me except loose stools.

Marge
