Guest guest Posted March 12, 2010 Report Share Posted March 12, 2010 Yes, it is possible that lactose was a problem, however that does not explain why some days he would have no problem with milk and other days he would turn into a screaming wild child hiding under the table after eating a bowl of cereal with milk. Finding out that some days the cows were fed the grain mash and other days no grain at all explained why the reaction was intermittent. Since he spent the first 2 years of his life sick because he was getting gluten from my breast milk, it made sense that the same thing would happen when he consumed cow’s milk from cows that were eating barley.  Of course, in the absence of any research confirming this, there is no way to be absolutely certain of what was going on, but eliminating milk from his diet worked, and my philosophy is to go with what works.
