Guest guest
Connie, I'll try hard to remember not to send the entire string, as it's difficult for you to read. I suppose you get digest form? H.
Guest guest
Connie, I am one who likes the string. If I pick up my emails at end of the day, I can just go to the last email of a string. I also have a short memory and often refer to previous messages in the string to remind me. It would be difficult to go back and find the previous message. Just another thought on the subject. Darlene _._,_.___ Reply to sender | Reply to group Messages in this topic (2) .. Guest guest
But on the other side of the coin, when getting individual messages, it is very annoying not to see the original message string. I do prefer to see the entire string, then I can just delete all the earlier messages. I do know what you mean though, as I do get digests for other lists. Unfortunately, there is really no way to please everyone. Thanks! From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Connie Sent: Friday, February 26, 2010 4:40 AM Subject: [ ] Could you all please trim your posts? It is really difficult to read the digest when one gets the entire string each time. Thanks!
Guest guest
When I hit reply to group, no string shows up below my "compose a message" so I have no way to trim. Never thought of it before, but I'm now sending this message to see if the entire string shows up in my message. Not trying to be annoying if it does! -
Guest guest
I was on another group that had us trim everything besides the original post we were responding to. For instance, we got rid of all of the extra stuff such as the email address, group ads, etc. So it looked like this. I'm responding now to your post, Darcy and I left what I was responding to below. If there was a long thread going on we left it all there but otherwise we truncated it.--- On Fri, 2/26/10, Darcy <ddarcy@...> wrote But on the other side of the coin, when getting individual messages, it is very annoying not to see the original message string. Guest guest
This is probably a lost cause. Some folks will do it, but others might not have the know-how, and nowadays there are so many email clients (including desktop, web, iphone, blackberry) that many folks might not even have control over it even if they wanted to... I'll try to do it though ;-) On Fri, Feb 26, 2010 at 4:40 AM, Connie <connie@...> wrote: It is really difficult to read the digest when one gets the entire string each time. Thanks! Guest guest
, you can control this within your own email tool. There is an option to include original messages in your reply or not. Your option must be checked as “not”. BTW, I do definitely agree with trimming out all the extra stuff adds to the end of messages!
