I was the one with the old bald man. We are from Carthage. Just next to

Joplin. I think I was wearing a pink sweater and white capris.....I think,

but won't swear. I also had had the gastric part undone due to some medical

problems that I have... Don't worry about not remembering me. I just can

barely remember that we were there. But, I do remember the

food........GREAT!!!!!! yummy. remind me who you were. Please. Thanks.

Hii ,

Now I remember since you said you had the gastric part undone. I didn't

really get

to talk to you I just caught what you were saying to someone else. I was

with

my husband as well a tall guy with gray hair. I was sitting next to CB's

sister .

CB (cheryl) was right across the table from me.

KJ,

I am so glad to hear from you. I wondered how your treatments were going. Is

everything gone or in remission now? I sure hope you are doing well. Has

your MGB caused any problems with the treatments? Stay in touch. I have

missed you.

Hi Rhue!!!

I haven't talked to you in forever! I am in remission now :-). I have to

go for Lymphedema therpy tomorrow, as I now have Lymphedema. Which is a

build up of fluid in my arm which causes a lot of pain, redness and

swelling. So I have to have my arm massaged to get the fluid moving through

my arm.

I have ten more radiation treatments and then I am done! I am just so

burned now that they had to put me on a break for a week.

How are you doing with your weight loss? I lost 120 pounds but wouldn't you

know it the type of cancer I have puts weight on you! So even though I

have watched it really close I have gained five pounds. They put me on

hormons to prevent the cancer from coming back. I was on them for two weeks

and gained ten more pounds so I don't take them any more. Thank goodness

the ten pounds came right back off after I stopped taking them. It is only

like a 23% chance that it would prevent the cancer from coming back. If I

continue to take them I would have other serious problems from being over

weiight so I lose either way. I choice to not take them and keep the weight

off.

So nice to hear from you!

KJ

I am so sorry for all you have been through. I have had some lymphedema

treatments for my leg when it was giving me so much trouble, so I know wha

that is like. I am so glad to hear of your remission. I will give you an

update on my weight loss, though I think some people may tire of hearing of

it, but.....I lost 55 lbs the first 6 months from the MGB and for the next 5

or 6 lost no more. I started gong to WW and have lost an additional 62 or so

lbs there for a total of 117+. It is a struggle, but one I will continue

until I reach goal. Thankfully you have been able to keep yours off. That is

great. I am having surgery day after tomorrow to remove my gall bladder. Not

looking forward to it, but things could be worse, couldn't they, KJ. Keep up

the good work and stay in touch. I am so glad to hear that hopefully the

worst is over for you.

Rhue,

We have to struggle with our weight for the rest of our life. But we will

not let it win :-).

Good Luck on your surgery. I had to have my Gall Bladder taken out when I

was a year out. In fact

it was done on the same day as my surgery just one year later.

They did scans and xrays of my chest but yet never saw any cancer...which

was there at that time.

Believe it or not for me that surgery was worse then having a mastectomy.

However there was a reason for that I was left with no feeling in my chest

wall or in my right arm down to my elbow.

So I couldn't feel any pain. That was nice...Gods way I guess of making it a

little better for you by taking the pain away.

I'll be thinking of you....good luck,

KJ

PS. Thought I would add this

Dr. H.

3/06/04

276/158 Now 163 never did lose that last 30 pounds :-( maybe someday.
