Guest guest
- About 6 months ago I suggested to Cactus (loud casual Mexican restaurant in Berkeley on Solano Ave) that they carry Redbridge beer. Well, they just started last week! Go have a beer.- Also Berkeley Natural Grocery (on Hopkins) carries the N-R-G (is that the name? sounds like " energy " ) hamburger buns (someone posted about asking Udi's for those) - I tried the eXtreme pizza in Berkeley with all the GF toppings they allow. It was pretty good. On the crust debate, I am a big fan of the still riding pizza crusts. I like the 's Pizza Kitchen pizzas the best -- Amici's are ok too. I liked the eXtreme pizza. The Mariposa crust is good when you get it at Mariposa, but at Bobby G's or at home it seems to get too hard and dried out.

As for eXtreme Pizza, I've had two from the Livermore location and they were delicious. They are incredibly generous with piling on the toppings. -- Joe http://sanbeiji.com/
Guest guest
Question-Where do you get the 's Pizza Kitchen pizza's? I'd like to try them. I tried Amici's the other week and agree that they are pretty good. Still haven't tried Extreme Pizza, but they also use still riding crust like Amici's so I'm sure it will be good. With respect to Berkeley Mexican, I tried Picante and got sick. Not sure what it was from...maybe the magaritas? Or I thought maybe the spanish rice? I have to admit I didn't ask many questions other than with respect to the corn tortilla. Do you have any problems or suggestions for eating at Cactus, what to watch out for? I'm still kind of new to this and my gluten symptoms are not always so clear and looking for Berkeley restaurants that are safe. Does anyone have a good chinese restaurant on Solano. I tried Rene's, they made just the white sauce for me without soy and I got sick. I've eaten at PF Chang's but it's not that convenient and I miss some really good authentic chinese as does my family who are forced to do without at times because of me. Thanks. > > - About 6 months ago I suggested to Cactus (loud casual Mexican restaurant > in Berkeley on Solano Ave) that they carry Redbridge beer. Well, they just > started last week! Guest guest
's Pizza Shack (sorry, i think its Shack not Kitchen) seems to be a north bay phenomenon. We discovered it on a trip to Sonoma and usually stop at another on when we pass through the Vacaville/Fairfield/Vallejo area. They seem to have the pizzas down pretty well (separate prep area etc) but don't seem to know much about anything else on their menus. Still, the pizza is good! Very cheesy and greasy. Its my favorite GF pepperoni pizza by far, goes great with a cola... even better than animal fries at in-n-out (in terms of junk food).
