Guest guest
My notes from this are a bit garbled (trying to understand new information through the accent), but what I got was that the innate immune system is an immediate response mechanism whereas the adaptive immune system is a long-term response. Gluten sensitivity involves only the innate response. Celiac Disease is an adaptive response that involves intestinal damage. They have the same symptoms. That’s all I could figure out from what he said; maybe someone else could elaborate. He went into a little detail about the difference between the two, but I didn’t catch it. I wish I could have asked him how that would play out with Dr. Green’s assertion last week that they have found abnormalities in the epithelial cells of people with gluten sensitivity. I was having some health issues and missed it. I heard he talked about the difference between Celiac Disease and Gluten Sensitivity. Can anyone fill us in on what he said?
