Guest guest
During his morning session Dr. Fasano briefly noted that there was a non-human primate model for celiac disease. I knew that transgenic mice were bread to be sensitive to wheat, but I thought we were the only primate fortunate enough to have celiac disease. Not so. Here is a URL that will point you to an interesting and highly technical article about gluten intolerant enteropathy occurring naturally in macaques: http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0001614;jsessionid=016A82FBE60243B5C169CA4F1109839D . Note that some of the authors attended our conference. By the way, this article is complete and not just an abstract.Vic Dolcourt
