Guest guest Posted April 5, 2010 Report Share Posted April 5, 2010 Try Alka Selzter Gold for alleviating symptoms. If you don't have that, mix 1/2 tsp of baking soda with 4 oz of water. Repeat as necessary until you are over the glutening. The Alka Seltzer and baking soda basically do the same thing - alkalinize your system, thus preventing the digestion of gluten you eat while reducing inflammation. This isn't a cure and won't stop all damage, but it will help with your short-term symptoms and quicken recovery. Since it makes your digestive system alkaline, it prevents proper digestion of proteins, so it isn't recommended as a daily preventive.
