BJ's now carrying g-f pizza is unbelievably GREAT news! Thanks for passing this

along!

We ate at the Siena Bistro in Willow Glen this weekend. The restaurant has that

wonderful " bistro " feel and is family-owned. I met the chef/owner,

Wiesner, and he assured me that he understood allergies and could fix me almost

anything on the menu with a few modifications.

Our waitress, , also understood food allergies. I had their warm brie

salad with grilled chicken. It was delicious! The salad had lettuce,

blueberries and strawberries, candied walnuts (g-f), with pieces of grilled

chicken with warm brie cheese melted on top. The dressing for the salad was

cinnamon vinaigrette dressing (no malt vinegar), which just made the salad even

more delicious! I asked her for some butter because I brought along a few

crackers to enjoy with my salad, and the restaurant had no problem with me

bringing in my own crackers or bread to enjoy with my meal. This salad was so

big that you could share it with a girlfriend!

Other menu items you could enjoy is their chicken marsala (with a

mushroom/marsala sauce, pork (with a lemon-caper butter sauce) and salmon (with

a tuscan grape sauce), all sauces are inherently gluten-free. Just asked them

to not to dredge the meat/fish items in bread crumbs (the chef does this just to

thicken up the sauces a bit).

If you want a special " date night " or just to enjoy lunch with a girlfriend,

their address is 1359 Lincoln Avenue, San , CA; (408) 271-0837.

Usual disclaimer - eating out is risky.
