We just had lunch at BJ's today (Mon.), and is right - the g-f pizza is absolutely delicious!! Crispy crust all the way through, generous toppings. I talked with the manager on duty (Stacey), and she oversees the making of the g-f pizza to ensure that it is done properly. The even more good news is that BJ's is now in the process of formulating a g-f version of their famous Pizookie dessert - a warm cookie with ice cream on top. Hopefully, their g-f version of this dessert will be out soon. Can't wait! Sue

Guest guest
In the Bay Area, there are restaurants in San (Oakridge Mall), San Mateo, San Bruno, Newark, Cupertino and Concord (there's lots more cities outside the Bay Area listed on their website). I went to the Oakridge Mall BJ's today and spoke with Stacey, the manager. She is very enthusiastic about the new g-f menu. Sue > > > Where is BJ's? Guest guest
Hey Everyone,I just went to the one in @ Tan Foran (sp) and the pizza was great - chef came out, as I had some questions. I ordered a redbridge Server was good - although, I did call and the hostess had NO idea what I was talking about. They have a takeout pamphlet, they are seriously advertising it. There's a flyer on the table! Anyways - I recommend the pizza and the Santa Fe Salad (w/out chips or chicken for gf). Cheers,On Mon, May 31, 2010 at 6:29 PM, Harper <flatcat9@...> wrote: Where is BJ's? What town? Guest guest
Went to the BJ's in Cupertino today. The server was aware of the gf menu, but that's the extent. She sent the manager over, who was very knowledgeable and excited about the new gf items. He said the company has worked hard to make a good tasting crust, and I have to agree! It was buttery, but crispy, and no trace of that " gf aftertaste " some crusts have. I have to rate it better than Amici's (taste and pricewise--only $12 at Bj's and twice the price at Amicis), better than Willow Street Cafe and Pizza Party (Santa Clara). Having the Redbridge with it was icing on the cake. The manager said that when a gf pizza is ordered, either he or the head kitchen person stands and watches the preparation. They cook it on paper, use separate tools, but they do cook it in the same oven. The side salad I ordered came out with croutons and i promptly sent it back. I got the new salad back, but noticed the menu only listed dressings that were wheat free, not gluten free. Asked the manager again, and he checked the ingredients on the ranch for me, which was fine. (he did think that soybean oil had gluten, but i told him it was safe, and that soy sauce was the culprit. I credit him for trying!) They plan on rolling out more gf items (pasta, etc) if all goes well! Overall great experience, and we will be back! > > > > > > > Where is BJ's? Guest guest
Oh yes, that was one other thing, there seemed to be some discrepancy, for example - there's a chart, but lists the santa fe salad as with wheat, soy and MSG, of all things, so I asked the chef to come out and wanted to know why it was on the Gluten Free list, but was showing as having these allergens. He said that I had to order it without chicken and without the tortillas chips. All in all - I'm still so happy with the experience and I completely forgot to mention it was $12 bucks for the pizza. In SF Amici's and Extreme are around $25 bucks. This has been by far the best!~ On Mon, May 31, 2010 at 8:41 PM, Jill <jillerscroft@...> wrote: Went to the BJ's in Cupertino today.
