My latest lab test results

Hi All, Here are the latest lab test results so far.

I had had no previous results reliably for body fat and the 8.2% overall

seems to be good and the 5.3% trunk fat suggests to me that the fat in the

waist is low, which also seems to be good to me. The cholesterols results

seem to be in line with recent results since taking fish and the associated

cholesterol. I like the serum fat numbers.

For the glucose load after fast, the nurse expected about 180 glucose at one

hour post load, instead of the big decrease, and then a decrease.

The doctor, a gerontology/diet experimental cardiologist suggested that my

CR may have given me the relatively reduced fasting blood glucose level and

greatly increased glucose uptake by my greatly reduced skeletal muscle

cells. I may have a highly faster insulin response. At 75 g glucose,

exceptionally low weight and not seeing that much simple sugar since my last

2-liter ice cream binge 15 years ago.

Interestingly, he is studying a group including vegans that eat only raw

foods, who have body mass index, white blood cell counts and interestingly

bone densities at young ages that are lower than many who call themselves

CRONies. These raw food vegans had their blood glucose after fasting go up

a little and then slowly continue to increase thereafter.

Our insulin levels and various other parameters of inflammation will be

measured together with the vegans/vegatarians/controls who undergo parallel

analyses.

I like the low white blood cell and lymphocytes. Many CRONies have low wbc,

I have not seen any so low and the lymphocytes are a feature of animal CR

that few CRONie humans seem to have. The platelets being that low had only

happened twice before. Ferritin level is much higher than previously, which

I attribute to taking the RDA of iron supplement.

Creatinine had been low for me only once earlier. B12 is all fish. Blood

urea nitrogen has been considerably lower. Albumin and protein being low

signals low weight. Bilirubin levels being normal has happened lately

inconsistently. Low sodium and chloride is normal for the CR me. Calcium

was maybe due to being away from my supplement supply and taking bone

medication recently before.

The bones continue to be disasters. It was different lab doing it, so I

wonder about valid comparison.

Exercise did not increase my blood pressure much. I do not know the exact

relevance of all the cardiac tests and will need to await explanation. The

diff. from BMR being 22% low seemed to impress the doctor and I was

impressed also. My basal metabolic rate will be interesting to compare with

other CRONie numbers, what were they again?

Needless to say, I find these times of our lives to be of great interest.
