Guest guest
Hi Ria, My height is 5'3" and my current weight is 108. My usual caloric intake is 1800- 2000 calories a day on weight lifting days, 1500 calories a day if I'm only doing cardio work, and 1200 on rest days. I'm considerably more athletic than is necessary or perhaps even desirable, so I don't necessarily recommend that you replicate my training program. That being said, what I normally do is 45 minutes to an hour of intense cardio work 6 days a week, and wear a heartrate monitor to assess and regulate intensity. (I run on pavement or speed train on a treadmill usually, but also own a spin-type cycle which I'll use for cross-training about once a week.) I also lift very heavy weights 4 days a week (legs, chest, back, shoulders/arms with ab work thrown in every other time.) My weight training is done with a partner for safety spotting and motivation--we take it all a little too seriously, but hell it's better than the things I USED to do for fun (tee hee.) One thing to say about it, my bones are in GREAT shape and I can beat up offensive young men should the need arise. The skin firming cream that seemed effective is DMAE available from vitaminshoppe.com. I think it is helpful, and is certainly non-irritating at least. At night I've used Renova (prescription) for a few years, and must say it is VERY effective. (Don't use it during the day.) All of the above is the normal routine. Until recently, I've found it awfully hard to control evening binge-eating, so those calorie counts are probably more target counts than actual counts. Increasing the fruit in my diet has just about cured the binges, but of course I also lose my ferocious appetite immediately if I cease exercise or even just restrict it awhile.
