Guest guest
Hello My name is Sarma, I just came to know about this group from http://www.scoliosislinks.com. I am a scoliosis patient, I got my sugery done as a kid in 1979, they inserted Harring rods to support the fusion. I was doing great until a month back when I started having some lower back pain. The doctor I consulted said one of the Harring rods has shifted which is causing the pain. And suggested both rods to be removed since they are not required any more. Are there any risks removing the rods after 26 years. How big is the surgery to remove the rods ? I would like to hear some opinions on this and also need help in finding good scoliosis specialists in Bay Area, California. Appreciate any pointers. Thanks in advance, Sarma
