Guest guest
Merry Christmas Cam and other members. I just looked over the last months posts and saw many of the same people are still active members. It has been over a year, maybe even 2, since I have posted anything and Cam wanted to know how I have been doing during that time. I am doing good from the scoliosis surgery I had in July of 2004 although I do lean forward a little. I hope it's not leading to something more serious. Dr Lenke did my surgery and I'm not due to go back to him for another year. It'the 1988 Arnold Chiari Malformation surgery that is still causing me a great deal of hip pain. It's the site where they took a bone out to put in my neck. It's hard to believe I could still have so much pain after 20 years but I do. I am sure it is mostly nerve pain and if anyone has experienced this type of pain and have suggestions for relief, please let me know. My husband and I just got back from a 12 day cruise to Auckland New Zealand and Sydeny Australia. It was a beautiful part of the world but counting lay overs it took 30 hours to get there. Outside of that all we do is go to the gym. We work out 5 or 6 days a week for 2 hours. It's part of our daily schedule and if we miss over 2 days in a row we notice a difference in the way we feel. In 2007 I bought a van with a lift and effortless steering which gave me back my independence. I can push a button, lower the lift, drive my scooter in, transfer to the drivers seet and I'm off. No more waiting on hubby to take me to the mall. I guess that's all. Not a very active two years but sometimes that's not all bad. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and a happy and healthy New Year. Joyce Edmonds
