Guest guest
Hi All, This below is what I found to be a useful directory to diet-related links. I recommend it for you perusal and usage. I hope it is new to the lists. The websites below provide insights into how some countries are responding to the problem, and offer tips, reports, research, and interactive tools. International Obesity Task Force site was at: http://www.iotf.org A site in it was: Percentage of United States Adults Who Use Specific Weight Control Practices By Body Mass Index Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (2000); Self-reported data This table reflects the percentages of individuals who use specific weight control practices by body mass index. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Obesity Education Initiative I recommend the Menu Planner in: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/about/oei/index.htm It is described as: Easy-to-use calculators for body-mass index and menu planners, and treatment guidelines for use in palm pilots are among the highlights of this site from The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Also useful on this US government site are fact-sheets from the US Surgeon General's recent " call to prevent and decrease obesity " and the full text of Clinical Guidelines on the Identification, Evaluation, and Treatment of Overweight and Obesity in Adults: The Evidence Report. Another site is: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/obesity/lose_wt/behavior.htm It has: Guide to Behavior Change Your Weight Is As Important To Us As It Is To You! This may be relevant to recent members. Cheers, Al.
