Guest guest
We had a discussion about this a short while ago wondering why bears don't suffer from osteo because of hibernation. I just heard that bears in hibernation don't lose skeletal tissue (as bedridden humans do) because they " shiver " four times a day. The shivering gives them a workout comparable to a human riding an exercise bike.
