Guest guest
Hi Steve, The easiest and most effective way to manage your diabetes through diet is to avoid flour and sugar meaning all refined carbohydtares like bread, pasta, bakery products, pretzles, crackers, ect and sugar added foods. This does NOT include all the great friuts, vegetables, and whole grains. The best reference book I have ever read, and follow even though I do not have diabetes, is The Good Foods Book by, Dr Gabe Mirkin and Mirkin. It is available at www.drmirkin.com. You can also find many references on this site regarding diabetes, exercise, and nutrition. Dr. Mirkin has gotten most of his partients OFF of insulin and greatly reduced the amount all of them take as a result of following his program. Check it out, you will be glad that you did. PEACE. ps-if you have difficulty finding the book I have several copies here and can sent you one.
