food pyramid - usefullness?

Yes, checklist is a better name. I never liked "food pyramid" , because it conveys no useful info. The only diet book that conveys a "program" that people can follow (notice the word follow), is the DASH diet for hypertension. It was developed for HTNer's but is a food intake stemming from the "Mediterranean diet" that can be used by all. It has all the "good" features like veggies, fruits, low fats, etc, in menus that people can actually DO. It's not for the atkin's folks.
