Guest guest
Welcome . AFAIK, there isn't anyone restricting calories as drastically as 900 and below, so I'm not sure where you got that info. I, for example, eat about 1200-1400 cal daily. on 1/2/2003 8:00 PM, <chriscelnew@...> at chriscelnew@... wrote: > How can > you restict your cals to 900 and below and get enough protien?? > Thanks for the input~ > >
Guest guest
I eat 1800 kcal and can lift my 200# son, but I'm not "there" yet. I'm trying to lose slowly. Mainly because it isn't easy and Dr Walford expressed some concern about freeing toxins in fat. Regards. ----- Original Message ----- From: <chriscelnew@...> Sent: Thursday, January 02, 2003 7:00 PM Subject: [ ] Newbie has a question Hi everyone I am new to this group! I have a question. Guest guest
Well… I eat about 800 calories a day just from protein J The rest of my 1200 calories are 700 from carbs and 500 from fat. Most of my protein comes from casein powder (mostly because it’s convenient and cheap), the rest from chicken, turkey, low-fat cottage cheese, low-fat quark, some organ meats and fish. Micky. P.S : I’m not a witch J -----Original Message----- From: <chriscelnew@...> [mailto:chriscelnew@...] Sent: Thursday, January 02, 2003 5:00 PM Subject: [ ] Newbie has a question Hi everyone I am new to this group! Guest guest
Hi , I am also vegan, however practicing CRON I average about 1200 to 1300 calories. It is VERY tough minimizing calories and getting the adequate nutrition us vegans need! Everyday I have to be extremely careful about what I eat, and cannot really stray from my daily diet. For example, if I decided to treat myself and have a serving of white steamed rice with my tofu instead of say spinach, I get extra calories with less nutrients. 900 calories would definitely be too few! Many people have said to me that you just cannot do CRON and be a vegetarian, let alone vegan! But I feel that if you are really careful and stick to your meal plan, you can do it. I also get regular check-ups with my doctor to make sure I am doing okay. I don't what your reasons for being vegan are, but I am vegan for ethical reasons, and I believe that you can practice CRON without giving up on your personal ideals. Good luck! Guest guest
Amy, One CRON comment. You should be having brown rice, not white rice. Walford goes into the benefits of the natural, unprocessed form rather than the refined WHITE rice. Joe > Hi , > > I am also vegan, however practicing CRON I average about 1200 to 1300 > calories. Guest guest
Well I think the key is variety! I try to eat as many different kind of foods as I can. There are so many wonderful kinds of food out there and I love it all! Find some core items that you like and make sure they are always stocked in your house. Yesterday's meal was: B: Plain instant oatmeal with some Stevia for sweetness Snack #1: orange Lunch: Lite tofu and broc stiry-fry (my favorite!) Snack #2: large apple Dinner: Boca burger in pita, lettuce, tomato, etc. (vegan hamburger) and large salad with slice bell pepper and oil and balsamic vinegar Snack #3: some soy nuts Came out to: 1105 calories, 20g fat, 183g carb, 62g protein It was a lower day as far as calories go. Some days it is hard to eat so much food in order to meet my daily requirements as I like to eat really small frequent meals. Hope this helps! Feel free to email me if you want any recipes, tips, support etc. Best wishes, Amy

I also don't like water by itself. You can try adding a lemon or lime wedge, altho that still doesn't do it for me. I drink a lot of flavored waters (some carbonated, some not, some sweetene with splenda, some with aspartame). You can get some good deals at Costco and Walgreen's. Just be sure to read the labels. For weights, what I did before I had some of my heavier weights was hold two of them in one hand for some exercises. Also sometimes you can find good deals on used sporting good stores like Play it Again Sam. Colleen

Tri-ups are good too...you can use your coffee table or something....increase the reps as you go...pull ups (if you have a park ) first do them withpalms toward you (for biceps) and then reverse grip (overhand) for back work and vary the placement of your hands for different areas. If you can't do the pull ups you can try the way the women in the marines have to do hem...get in place and then just try and hold your chin above the bar as long as possible...you could also use yourumb bells to hold while you are doing pushups to vary your grip and also make you have to dip lower. Thats all I can think of right now... Pat
Guest guest
, Oops. I'm not very computer literate. I did my first challenge in 2000 and had great results! Pics under " Tiffiny's Challenges " . Then I caught pneumonia and it ate up all my muscles . Then I started student teaching and had no time for workouts/eating right. I spent that time in front of my computer writing lesson plans or at the school...sometimes not sleeping at all. After I graduated, I tried many times to start a new challenge...and kept messing up.....so it's about time I got on the ball ! I'm on week 7 and going strong. I started at 27.9% bf and @4 weeks was @ 25.5%. I hope to get to 17%..but might need another challenge to accomplish that. The closer I get to my goal, the slower the progress. Anyway, sorry this was so long. Good luck with your challenge and with college! -Tiffiny > > I have just started...First of all, I am very psyched about this > plan. > > It seems to really work.
