Guest guest
Ah... the 4th macronutrient (C,F,P, and A)... while there is some debate about energy utilization, alcohol is generally considered 7 calories per gram. I suspect the risks from the calories are minimal compared to dangerous behaviors associated with compromised judgment, and stress from toxic load on the body. Moderate consumption has been generally associated with positive health markers but I don't recall ever drinking moderately (2 drinks) when I was 21 and in a bar with a few friends. If you can do that you're a better man than I (was). With 30+ years of practice I am now able to spend time in a bar and actually switch to something non-alcoholic after a few, have a great time, and even better yet, no hangover.... try it, you may like it. I have attached a link with the calories in several popular beers, counting calories is a great reason to not drink excessively. http://brewery.org/brewery/library/AlClbinger.html JR -----Original Message-----From: a <jaimemichaela@...> [mailto:jaimemichaela@...]Sent: Tuesday, February 18, 2003 12:21 PM Subject: [ ] alcohol consumptionI just recently became a cronie, this is very important to me so i'm giving it my best effort. Guest guest
Alcohol in CR is OK, just remember one thing: MODERATION. This applies to everything in life, but is really crucial in CR. So many individuals lose their perspective on this lifestyle change and become slaves to CR. Relax and enjoy life in moderation and strive for balance. Do not let CR consume you to the point where you are preoccupied with this stuff. Trust me I have seen some real pathology emerge when CR is taken to extremes. Be cautious, go slowly and have fun with it.
