Guest guest
You know, Fran, the problem with Dr W's books is that the don't really give me a "workable" food plan. 's DASH diet, or Ornish's "reversing heart disease" are workable. The measurements need to be exact - not a "medium" fruit, eg. Not sherm's muffins, or some other thing I have to make using special stuff I ordered from Calif. Precise data like Ca supplement 1 gram - is that 1 gram of Ca carbonate or a supplement that contains one gram of CA. Even cups are not precise because of the cup volume versus cup weight (8 oz weight). Serving instead of how many ounces weight. Although Walford's books do give a good outline of the process, the menu needs a lot of work. Almost every day has some special thing that has to be "created". BTW, Sear's books are the worst example of inconsistency - diff people wrote diff chapters. He(they) ignore protein from veggies. Drives a veggie crazy. I get frustrated easily. regards. ----- Original Message ----- From: Francesca Skelton Sent: Friday, January 03, 2003 9:29 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Veganism (was Newbie Question) For those on a budget, Dr. W's books are also in most public libraries.on 1/3/2003 9:55 PM, quailwomn@... at quailwomn@... wrote:> >> Thanks I have had a tough time getting>> the book, I cant even find it on amazon...>> I will have to special order I guess> > Hi ,> > Go here: http://half.ebay.com> > They have a lot of Dr. Walford's books.> > Dot
Guest guest
I agree that Dr W's recipes are complex. I use my own recipes and those in our file under " member's recipes " . on 1/4/2003 11:19 AM, jwwright at jwwright@... wrote: Although Walford's books > do give a good outline of the process, the menu needs a lot of work.
