Guest guest
Hello All, I don't post much, but have read about Ghandi (Ron) who had a binge day. I also struggle with some real massive eating days off and on. However, I found the suggestion to average out the calorie / day ratios over a longer period of time, like a month. That is WONDERFUL advice! I CAN do that a lot easier than I can work the day to day routine. Could someone enlighten me about the every other day eating regime? Where can I read about this? I have found that I experience a significant increase in energy when I actually fast, at least for the first meal. But, as is my typical approach, after I restrict calories for a period of time, I might taste something sweet (like a hunk of chocolate), and then look out! The resolves are slammed to the floor and food becomes my partner in sin. I binge right out. Because this is my honest struggle (and I don't beat myself up about this, its just something that requires some navigation), I wonder If I might do better by eating 4000 calories or so on one day, and then restrict the next day to 1000 or less. I might be able to do this better than managing each day. So, any takes on the every other day approach? Regards, A.
Guest guest
bob; there's no trick to it. If your long term EOD intake averages less than your every day attempt at restriction, you're on CR! Or as Walford says by example : fast one day a week and save those calories. It's calories eaten over a lifetime that counts. If you find it too hard to do either, just do the ON part and be healthier anyway. on 10/28/2002 1:57 PM, robert.apple@... at robert.apple@... wrote: > I wonder If I might do > better by eating 4000 calories or so on one day, and then restrict the next > day to 1000 or less. Guest guest
Thanks for the update. I struggle with the CR part ALL the time, but I am not even close to giving up! I was successful on CRON over a year ago, and maintained it for approximately 8 months. My blood pressure went down so far I had to start tapering off of the BP medication I am on. The fact that such a thing can happen makes me TOO stubborn to just give up. If I have to make alterations to fight my appetite, I will. More later as I experiment and see what works for me. A.
