Guest guest
Ron (Ghandi) : Thanks for your frank post. Perhaps you should reassess why you're binging. Some people should probably not be on CR because of their personalities. Are you doing CR to such extremes that it's causing your binging and to think about food all the time? Moderation, moderation, moderation. Eat more. Or just do the ON part. which will keep you healthier. Finally, if you think you're going off the deep end, see a competent mental professional. on 10/26/2002 12:42 AM, ronaldo.luiz.alonso at ronaldo.luiz.alonso@... wrote: > Yesterday was a terryble day for me. Guest guest
It makes a lot of sense. You sound like a rather shy and sensitive type (as am I). And it is obvious that that being so - being a " spokesperson " for CR would be stressful. It sets one apart and it creates a lot of pressure to be perfect in one's CR regime for the sake of *the world* or for the sake of *one's 'integrity'* or something. Heaven forbid you ever slip up even a little .... (and slip up I do alas ...) But dammit! These are NOT the reasons one is interested in CRON anyway. The interest lies solely in wanting to improve/increase one's own life. It's *100% selfish*. And possibly to benefit/be with one's loved ones over time. Nothing more. It's basic *self- care* .... Also as soon as people know your eating little is a conscious decision based on CR principles - they will start to pressure you to eat all the more. Funny how that works Why be a spokesperson anyway? 1) to save others from themselves by converting them to the CRON lifestyle. Information is always good. But if one is to actually *advocate* CR with integrity they have to mention the cavets - to mention that there are risks - like osteo - at least of CR taken beyond a certain level. 2) to get people interesting in the general concepts of CR and lifespan extension in general. This is always beneficial because hopefully it will lead to more research into CR and it's risks/benefits and even more importantly into more research into lifespan extension in general and a to a nice little CR pill someday perhaps. Thank you for you advice. But I don't think this is necessary. If I do the on part and don't try to be perfectionist (like my personalty forces me to be). Then I think I'll adjust soon. The important thing is not to fall into an eating disorder, because I know that I have some unusual personality and I don't want to have more problems such as anorexia or bulimia nervosa. Eat more one day a week, or have such aliviating things that makes life more happier and contribute to increase self-stem and be a better man that is the way I'll folow from now on ... Cheers.
