Hi and welcome to the CR support group...

I know firsthand how to make yourself crazy-nuts trying to perfectly balance your micronutrients each day. Some people have worked up their own daily routine whereby they essentially eat the same foods everyday that combine to give a perfect micronutrient picture. This is rather like a rat-chow approach in my mind, so here's what I do instead.

Using the CRON Daily Checklist of Food Variety (found in the Files section at our site), I try to eat as many different foods as I can over the period of one week. This isn't so hard as it seems, since many fruits and vegetables are delicious with little or no preparation. More variety seems to be a good key to hitting all the bases, and is actually a lot of fun. Also, tracking my nutrition over a week instead of day gives me a bigger canvas to paint on, so that too little of one nutrient today can be balanced out tomorrow.

Dr. Walford's software is great, the best, btw. However, I use Diet Power which I find to be simpler and yet quite adequate for my needs. You can look at that software at dietpower.com and compare the two.

Other than these suggestions, I can offer the pat answer of "checking our files" for the many tips to beginners. Just as importantly, STICK AROUND and keep your ear to the ground. Over time I've figured out plenty of time-saving tips just by reading posts from the veterans.

BTW, I still take a multiple vitamin everyday, just in case.
